This Gamified Medical VR Experience was designed as a fast-paced and highly accessible educational solution that combines medical knowledge with intuitive gameplay. Created for healthcare professionals, respiratory specialists, anesthesiologists, and conference attendees, the solution helps participants understand the differences between respiratory filtration technologies while exploring how specific filter characteristics align with different clinical requirements.
Inside the experience, players enter an endless breathing tube representing a lung ventilation system. As defenders of the respiratory pathway, participants are challenged to stop incoming bacteria and viruses travelling through the airflow by selecting the most appropriate filtration solution. Through gameplay, participants discover how filtration efficiency, airflow resistance, and humidity retention influence respiratory care decisions.
Gamified Medical VR Experience is designed to be completed in approximately one to two minutes, the experience is ideally suited for healthcare conferences, exhibitions, and educational events where large numbers of participants can engage with meaningful content within a short timeframe.
Exploring Respiratory Filter Technologies Through Gameplay
At the core of the experience is an interactive challenge built around four Medtronic DAR™ filter technologies:
• Mechanical Filters
• Mechanical HME Filters
• Electrostatic Filters
• Electrostatic HME Filters
Each filter offers distinct characteristics related to filtration efficiency, airflow resistance, and moisture retention. Participants must quickly evaluate incoming scenarios and determine which filter best addresses the conditions presented.
To support understanding, the experience visualizes how different filtration technologies work. Participants can observe airflow behaviour, particle movement, and filtration performance in real time, transforming technical concepts into intuitive visual experiences. This approach makes complex respiratory care information easier to understand while highlighting the practical differences between available filtration solutions.
