Author: Alex Dzyuba, Lucid Reality Labs Founder & CEO

Yet another pair of remarkable devices has appeared on the VR headsets horizon. HTC has been amongst the tech companies making headlines in the past few months. This had to do primarily with the teasers and assumptions revolving around the new HTC VR headsets, anticipated to be officially announced during the VIVECON 2021 on May 11th and 12th. During the VIVECON 2021, HTC finally announced the two new headsets planned to be launched this year – the VIVE Focus 3 and VIVE Pro 2.

HTC VIVE Focus 3

HTC VIVE Focus 3, communicated as the “new era of business VR,” is promised to be shipped on June 27th. The new enterprise-aimed device will come with a 5K resolution and is expected to deliver the sharpest viewing experience, smooth visual achieved through the 90Hz refresh rate, up to 120° field of view, as well as the 2,448 x 2,448 per eye resolution, ensuring enhanced visual fidelity. Operated on Snapdragon XR2, the VR headset will have dual-driver speakers, enabling a 3D immersive spatial sound and quad on-board camera tracking.

HTC VIVE Pro 2

The second equally exciting device, announced during the VIVECON, was the HTC VIVE Pro 2, available starting June 3rd. The high-performance PC-VR headset has a remastered 5K display, 120° field of view, 120Hz refresh rate, 2,448 x 2,448 pixels per eye resolution, adjustable interpupillary distance (IPD), and 3D spatial sound. The new device is designed to be used for both enterprises and consumers and is compatible with a variety of accessories, from VIVE controllers to Base stations and VIVE trackers.
