Lucid Reality Labs became an Oculus Independent Software Vendor
Lucid Reality Labs has joined the Oculus Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Program, aimed at advancing the creation and adaptation of virtual reality (VR) solutions for enterprise grade Oculus products. The program works with both Independent Software Vendors as well as enterprise developers who have previously created and deployed solutions for Global Fortune 2000 clients, created VR solutions for commercial use and focused on VR simulations and trainings, bringing VR to enterprise.
The ISV Program gives access to various resources and tools, providing technical expertise to help members advance the adaptation of their VR solutions. The program focuses on revolutionizing business and supporting developers who create innovative solutions for Oculus headsets, helping transform work experiences, enhancing the processes of learning and collaborating while removing the tactile barriers with powerful VR experiences, reshaping the future of global enterprise.
Oculus VR, a subsidiary of Facebook since 2014 has evolved and developed it’s VR technology, rapidly moving it’s innovations forward from the launch of Oculus Go in 2018, their first standalone VR headset, improving the technology at a magnificent pace with the 2019 launch of Oculus Quest VR redefining experience, followed by the launch of Oculus Quest 2 in 2020, the next generation of all-in-one VR with an ambition to become the first mainstream headset. During the 2020 Q4 results conference call Mark Zuckerberg has outlined the creation of the next computing platform which can move forward the process of immersive technology integration into our everyday lives, amongst the four focus themes of the upcoming year, while confirming the development of a new headset.
MARK ZUCKERBERG, FACEBOOK CEO
“…we’re going to keep investing in and innovating on the big themes that I discussed here in order to put more power in the hands of people and small businesses. I personally believe that technology can unlock progress and opportunity — and that the full story of the Internet has not yet been written.”
With tech giants like Facebook highlighting advancement of VR amongst the main directions for the upcoming year, we are likely to see a rapid boost of the technology implementation in 2021 for both enterprise grade and smaller scale businesses, making immersive technologies integration part of long term business development strategies worldwide.
