Lucid Reality Labs Selected for Google Android XR Developer Catalyst Program for XREAL AURA

Lucid Reality Labs has been selected for the Google Android XR Developer Catalyst Program for XREAL AURA, joining developers exploring the next generation of Android XR and spatial computing experiences.

The program gives selected developers early access to pre-release hardware, tools and technical resources for Android XR development. “For Lucid Reality Labs, being a part of the Android XR Developer Catalyst Program creates an opportunity to bring our expertise in XR and AI to an emerging spatial computing platform and explore its potential for practical, enterprise-focused applications,” says Alex Dzyuba, Founder and CEO at Lucid Reality Labs.

What is the Android XR Developer Catalyst Program?

The Android XR Developer Catalyst Program is a developer initiative designed to accelerate the creation of applications and experiences for Android XR. Google describes the program as supporting the development of Android XR apps intended to move toward launch, while XREAL adds that it enables eligible developers to explore Android XR and spatial computing opportunities.

For XREAL AURA, selected developers receive a path to early hardware access alongside development tools and resources, enabling them to build, adapt and extend applications within the Android XR ecosystem.

Early access matters because new spatial computing platforms are shaped not only by hardware capabilities, but by what developers can build for them and how those capabilities translate into useful experiences.

What is XREAL AURA?

XREAL AURA is a spatial computing device powered by Android XR, combining lightweight optical see-through glasses with a dedicated compute device.

The platform includes a 70-degree optical see-through display, spatial tracking and hand tracking capabilities, and Gemini integration for contextual, multimodal AI experiences. Its compute architecture uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Reality Elite platform alongside XREAL’s X1S Spatial Coprocessor.

Google has positioned wired XR glasses such as XREAL AURA as a form factor that combines immersive digital content with continued visibility of the physical environment. That combination is particularly interesting when considering applications that need digital information to remain connected to real-world activity.

Android XR Developer Catalyst Program: Exploring Android XR for Enterprise Use Cases

For Lucid Reality Labs, participation in the Android XR Developer Catalyst Program an opportunity to work with emerging hardware and explore how Android XR, AI and spatial computing can work together in real enterprise environments.

As spatial technologies mature, their value increasingly depends on how effectively they can connect digital intelligence with the physical context in which people work.

Where do we see the potential areas for exploration?

  • AI-assisted workforce learning and guidance
  • contextual access to enterprise knowledge
  • immersive training and simulation
  • spatial visualization of complex information
  • guided workflows and operational support
  • collaboration within shared spatial environments

These are areas where the combination of spatial interfaces, real-world awareness and contextual AI could create new ways for people to interact with information while remaining connected to their physical environment, complete their operations safely and more efficiently and elevate overall performance.

Where XR and AI Converge

One of the most significant shifts in spatial computing is the deeper integration of XR and artificial intelligence. XR provides the spatial interface and real-world context; AI adds the ability to interpret information, understand intent, respond to changing conditions and deliver context-aware support. Together, they move spatial systems toward more intelligent, adaptive experiences that can assist users in real time within the environments where work actually happens.

XREAL AURA reflects this direction through Android XR and Gemini integration. With user permission, Gemini on Android XR can understand visual and surrounding context and provide assistance through voice and multimodal interaction.

For enterprise applications, this creates an interesting shift: from immersive experiences that users simply enter toward intelligent spatial experiences that can support people as they learn, make decisions and perform real-world tasks.

This direction also reflects how Lucid Reality Labs sees the evolution of Enterprise Spatial Intelligence, bringing together AI, spatial computing and enterprise knowledge to make digital intelligence more practical within physical operations.

Building for the Next Generation of Android XR

Android XR is developing into a broader ecosystem for headsets, wired XR glasses and intelligent eyewear. Google has built the platform around familiar development technologies including Android tools, Unity and OpenXR, while continuing to expand its XR SDK and developer ecosystem.

Participation in the Android XR Developer Catalyst Program gives Lucid Reality Labs an opportunity to bring its expertise and engage with that ecosystem early, learn directly from emerging hardware and technical resources, and explore where the technology can deliver meaningful enterprise value.

We look forward to building, learning and sharing more as our work with Android XR and XREAL AURA develops. More to come.
