IADAS Academy Milestone: Alex Dzyuba Joined the 31st Webby Awards Judges

Lucid Reality Labs Founder & CEO Alex Dzyuba joins the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) Executive Academy, bringing experience across AI, spatial computing, digital twins and enterprise simulation to a global community helping set standards for digital excellence. As an Executive Member, he will judge the 31st Webby Awards candidats.

Founded in 1998, IADAS brings together leaders from technology, business, media, creativity and other fields to recognize excellence and contribute to the development of the Internet and emerging forms of digital media.

IADAS Academy presents three established award programs: The Webby Awards, The Lovie Awards and The Anthem Awards. Together, they recognize global digital excellence, European digital innovation and purpose-driven work.

Alex Dzyuba will begin his Academy participation with the upcoming 31st Annual Webby Awards season, contributing his perspective as part of the IADAS Academy judging process.

Bringing an AI and Spatial Computing Perspective to the Academy

For Alex, joining IADAS Executive Academy comes at a particularly interesting point in the development of digital technology.

Spatial Intelligence is becoming a new enterprise reality. By combining AI with spatial computing, digital twins, simulation and immersive intelligence, organizations can turn complex knowledge into more adaptive training, real-time guidance and smarter operational decisions.

This is an area Alex and the Lucid Reality Labs team have been working in across enterprise and healthcare applications, where emerging technologies need to move beyond experimentation and solve practical problems around training, knowledge transfer, complex procedures and operations.

“We are entering a stage where AI is becoming increasingly connected with spatial computing, simulation, digital twins, robotics and physical systems. That convergence is changing what digital experiences can become and, more importantly, how they can be applied in the real world. I’m looking forward to bringing this perspective as the IADAS Executive Academy member, seeing the work being created across the industry and learning from fellow members along the way,” – Alex Dzyuba, Founder & CEO, Lucid Reality Labs.

What is the IADAS Academy?

The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS) was created with a broader purpose than award and recognition programs. Its mission is to support the creative, technical, purpose-driven and professional development of the Internet and evolving forms of digital media. The IADAS Executive Academy brings together a diverse international community of more than 3,000 experts, innovators and industry leaders.

The IADAS Academy’s work is built around three core ideas:

  • Recognize: acknowledging excellence and mastery across the Internet and emerging technologies.
  • Connect: bringing together leaders from different disciplines to exchange knowledge and contribute to the development of digital arts and sciences globally.
  • Educate: sharing expertise and helping make technology more understandable, useful and connected to wider culture.

These principles are reflected in the Academy’s award programs. By bringing experts from different industries into the evaluation process, IADAS aims to recognize strong work and help establish benchmarks for what quality, creativity, technical execution and meaningful impact look like as technology evolves.

For Executive Members, this creates an opportunity to contribute professional experience while gaining exposure to ideas and work emerging across the wider digital landscape.

One Academy, Three Perspectives on Excellence

The Webby Awards, The Lovie Awards and The Anthem Awards share the same IADAS Academy, but each looks at mastery through a different lens.

The Webby Awards: A Global Benchmark for Digital Excellence

Established in 1996, The Webby Awards recognize excellence across the Internet and digital technology. Often referred to as the “Oscars of the Internet,” the Webbys have also been described by The New York Times as “the Internet’s highest honor.”

Today, the awards span websites, apps, software, immersive experiences, video, advertising, social media, creators, podcasts and, increasingly, artificial intelligence. This reflects a broader shift in how digital technology is used: AI is becoming embedded in everyday experiences and enterprise systems, helping organizations work more efficiently, make better decisions and create more intelligent interactions. Webby AI entries are evaluated across areas including concept, execution, ethical practices and overall experience.

Executive Academy members with relevant expertise take part in the final stage of judging, evaluating shortlisted work and helping determine Honorees, Nominees and Winners. For Alex, the 31st Annual Webby Awards will be the first season of active participation as an IADAS Executive Member.

The Lovie Awards: Europe’s Digital Voice

The Lovie Awards bring a distinctly European perspective to digital excellence.

Launched in 2010, the Lovies recognize the people, projects and ideas shaping Europe’s contribution to the Internet. Work is evaluated across seven languages (such as English, French, Spanish etc.), reflecting the diversity of European markets, creative traditions and digital cultures.

The awards have also expanded their focus on AI & Innovation, making the European conversation around emerging technology increasingly important.

Europe occupies a distinctive place in the development of AI and digital technology, where innovation is often discussed alongside questions of ethics, regulation, privacy and human-centered design.

For international technology companies, the Lovie Awards represent more than a regional version of a global competition. This recognition provides a benchmark for how digital innovation is being developed and understood within Europe’s own technological and cultural context.

The Anthem Awards: Where Innovation Meets Impact

The Anthem Awards focus on another dimension: the measurable impact created by organizations, technology and ideas.

Launched in 2021, the Anthem Awards recognize purpose-driven work across areas including health, education, humanitarian action, sustainability and technology.

This means the judging question is different: a strong digital product may demonstrate excellent technology or design and must be considered an impactful one. It should be evident that this work contributes to people, communities or wider societal outcomes.

For Lucid Reality Labs, this perspective is particularly relevant to company’s expertise in healthcare training, education, accessibility and inclusion, where innovation is ultimately valuable because of the outcome it helps create.

The three programs can be viewed as complementary benchmarks:

  • The Webby Awards ask what outstanding digital innovation looks like.
  • The Lovie Awards examine how European digital culture and technology contribute to that evolution.
  • The Anthem Awards recognize how technology, organizations and ideas translate innovation into meaningful impact.

Together, they reflect a wider shift taking place across technology. The conversation now is about what can be built and how well it works, how responsibly it is designed, what value it creates and what impact it has in the real world.

That makes the role of experienced practitioners within organizations such as IADAS particularly important, especially as AI, spatial computing, immersive technologies and intelligent systems reshape how digital products, interfaces and enterprise experiences are designed and used.

Alex’s participation in IADAS Executive Academy also connects naturally with the areas Lucid Reality Labs has been developing across spatial computing, digital twins, simulation and intelligent systems. The company’s work, recognized by the Webby, Anthem, and Lovie awards multiple times, brings a perspective shaped by practical enterprise use and creates a valuable exchange between real-world implementation and the broader ideas shaping the next generation of spatial intelligence.

Looking Ahead to the 31st Annual Webby Awards

The 31st Annual Webby Awards will open for entries on September 15, 2026. As an Executive Member of IADAS, Alex Dzyuba joins an international community of leaders helping evaluate the work defining the next generation of digital experiences. His participation begins with the Webby Awards, while his membership also connects him to the wider IADAS ecosystem behind The Lovie Awards and The Anthem Awards.

For Lucid Reality Labs, the appointment represents recognition of Alex’s experience and an opportunity to take a more active part in the conversations shaping how emerging technologies are understood, evaluated and applied.
